Trailer Of The Week - Week#27

Recently, we've been rather obsessed with the phenomenon of the 'trailer which tells the whole movie in much less time' genre (examples here and here). This week though, we found ourselves pondering a much rarer species, one we have sensationally monikered the 'trailer that makes out there's a great movie coming but which actually ends up being more exciting than anything in the film' genre. To illustrate, allow us to present one of the trailers for The Spirit, Frank Miller's near-universally panned collection of camp which didn't deliver half as much tension, excitement or catchy dialogue as the trailer appears to suggest. Enjoy it, just... don't let it convince you to see the film.

Trailer Of The Week is a regular Film Intel feature which picks a different tasty trailer of delectable goodness every week and presents it on Sunday for your viewing pleasure. Sometimes old, sometimes new, sometimes major, sometimes independent, sometimes brilliant, sometimes a load of old bobbins: always guaranteed to entertain. 2. A shame the films that follow them aren't always the same.
