Trailer Of The Week - Week #12 - Mitsuko Delivers

Mitsuko Delivers got an airing in the UK last year at the Leeds International Film Festival and, somewhat surprisingly, it now looks like it's going to get another one, with a May UK release date stencilled in, if IMDb is to be believed. Somewhat whimsical, Yƻya Ishii's film has a couple of annoying elements to it, starting with the heroine's insistence that everything be labelled 'cool' or 'uncool', which like most hipster-ish inflections gets pretty old, pretty quickly. Still, stay with it and there's some genuinely funny comedy too, plus an endearing layer of optimism its hard to shake yourself free from. Worth checking out if you can find it or, more likely, when it arrives on DVD. Our full review from Leeds can be found here.
