Trailer Of The Week - Kung Fury

With the trailer having recently received a fair amount of attention from several big media outlets, Kung Fury seems certain to move from Kickstarter project to short film reality, with director Laser Unicorns (AKA David Sandberg of Sweden) all the more hopeful that the thirty minute feature he plans to create will lead to a full length film. Seemingly cut from the same cloth as the “fake” trailers seen in Tarantino and Rodriguez’s Grindhouse, Sandberg’s film has its basis in eighties action cop films whilst at the same time featuring dinosaurs, vikings and Adolf Hitler, all via the most retro time travel device since Doc Brown decided to customise his DeLorean. It could be so crazy it’s brilliant, but it could also suffer from the same issues as other tongue-in-cheek cheese fests of recent years (think Snakes On A Plane). Either way, the trailer is hugely entertaining for now, as well as being a triumph of low-budget green screen filmmaking.
