Trailer Of The Week - Jurassic World

Obviously a trailer gives only a somewhat manufactured glimpse of what the whole film might be like, but from the 160 seconds Jurassic World's first trailer offers us, Colin Trevorrow's return to Isla Nublar looks very, very promising. Trevorrow may actually have pulled off everything that a new installment in the Jurassic Park franchise needs to be: faithful to the original, whilst not just a rehash of what Spielberg did twenty two years ago; revisiting the themes and ideas that made the original brilliant, whilst being neither a remake nor a reboot (both of which are ideas that really don't need to happen); and bringing some new twists to the franchise that make this fourth installment seem worthwhile. Jurassic World feels like it could take the series in a new and interesting direction in a way that both The Lost World and Jurassic Park III ultimately failed to manage. Let's hope Trevorrow's film can live up to this potential when it's released in June next year.
