Trailer Of The Week - Week #25

Anticipation for The Illusionist has been building amongst film fans for a few months now and with it's UK premiere at the Edinburgh film festival passing off successfully earlier in the week, now seems as good a time as any to take a look at its trailer. Blending a hand-drawn animation style which feels eerily familiar to the early Broken Sword videogames, the film's content also calls to mind the old-school in a very charming manor that will hopefully see it ride on the coat tails of Disney's The Princess And The Frog. Whilst the use of the word 'Oscar' is banned around here in the summer months, you could be forgiven for whispering it as you watch this.

Trailer Of The Week is a regular Film Intel feature which picks a different tasty trailer of delectable goodness every week and presents it on Sunday for your viewing pleasure. Sometimes old, sometimes new, sometimes major, sometimes independent, sometimes brilliant, sometimes a load of old bobbins: always guaranteed to entertain. 1. Looks very intriguing, but I haven't heard too much about it here. The trailer didn't impress so much as what it shows. Good films can always exceed mediocre trailers. I'll be sure to note this one as one to check out.

  2. It's really received fantastic reviews all over the place. Doubt I'll be able to see it at the cinema but looking forwards to it on DVD.
