Seeing as this week has resolutely been all about the Harry Potter phenomenon, there's only one way to spend your trailerific Sunday: in the company of the film where it all began. Harry Potter And The Philosopher's Stone (or Sorcerer's Stone if you're a US movie-goer) was released on the world on 16th November 2001, featuring the distinctly fresh faces of Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint. I'd say it's hard to believe how big it's grown and how far the actors have come, but it's really not. We now wait with baited breath for the 'proper' end of the franchise in July 2011, almost exactly ten years from when it all first began. End of an era approaching? You betcha.

You know what? 'HP and The Deathly Hallows: Part 1' awakened the nostalgia in me. I don't mind seeing the previous films, especially, this one. I haven't seen it for ages. I used to go to school, when it was one of my favorites.
ReplyDeleteIt's good looking back on the older films although personally, I think the series has improved markedly the further on its got (with the exception of the latest one which, in my opinion, has got many problems).
ReplyDeleteI agree that they've been improved, but there's a share of certain charms in the first film. As for the last one, I think, it was the best of the whole franchise. I think, I missed your review, if you had posted it. Have to chack it out.
