Other than the cold, the damp and that slight nagging feeling that I should have started the Christmas shopping, November means one thing around these parts: the excellently programmed Leeds International Film Festival, now in its 27th year.
Beginning on Wednesday 6th November and lasting for 16 days, here's the annual plunge into the schedule to pick out a handful of things that look either good, bad or bizarre... or all three of those things in the case of HK: Forbidden Super Hero, a film about a man who wears pants on his head.

Something of a treat, the original found footage film will be screening with the director in attendance and a showing of Xavier Mendik's documentary covering the film's history and influence. Ben will be covering this for us and I am therefore extremely jealous.

There's been positive word on this from those who saw it at Edinburgh and the promise of a twisty plot of intrigue, plus the presence Rutger Hauer make this very high on my festival 'must see' list indeed.

There's been plenty said about the Cuban Missle Crisis, so it will be interesting to see if this has anything new to offer. Still, at just seventy-eight minutes, there's little harm in calling in to find out.

A Spanish The Sixth Sense but without Haley Joel Osment, with Comedy and set in a High School populated by ghosts who must graduate to 'move on'? Sold.

attention of both the courts and the government that lead to films
being withdrawn and censored including deodato's cannibal holocaust
finally gets re-released at the hyde park cinema for the first time plus
a fan interaction with deodato himself it is going to be the best ever treat
for the city and a benchmark for future re-releases hosted by the cast and crew
to follow deodato to come and visit leeds I can not wait.
