Trailer Of The Week: Godzilla Vs King Ghidorah / Godzilla Vs Mothra

With Gareth Edwards' Godzilla currently making waves at the box office, but receiving a range of write-ups from critics (including Sam's none-too-impressed review here), I was inspired to dip into the giant radioactive lizard's Japanese back catalogue. The latest attempt by Edwards to reboot Godzilla for Western audiences is in many ways the most faithful to the original Toho films we've seen so far, which seems to have been a sticking point for some in terms of the titular reptile's characterisation and appearance. So this week you get two trailers for the price of one: partly because they're both on the same YouTube link, but also because I can't help but feel Edwards was more than a little inspired by the likes of King Ghidorah and Mothra when crafting certain elements of his film. A classic Godzilla adversary in the now-confirmed sequel to Edwards' Godzilla would be very welcome by me. Miniature twin girls with synchronous voices less so, however.
