From The Files Of... Photoshopped Posters

I will give you the fact that Vince Vaughn was actually in the room the day this publicity shot was taken. I might even give you Kevin James. But Winona Ryder is looking extremely suspect and on the day this was taken, Jennifer Connelly's body appears to have been in a different state to her face.

  1. Well, either that or Jennifer Connolly became incredibly fascinated with what was going on with Vince Vaughn's chin.

  2. i've never understood why studio's marketing departments spend so much money on marketing and then release this...

It's like Jennifer Connelly's face has been airbrushed to oblivion

  3. Univarn - there is that too. Perhaps she's spotted a weird growth or something. His neck for example.

  4. desertofreel - I absolutely know what you mean. So many great graphic artists out there. So few of them employed by Hollywood apparently!

  5. Surely the biggest flaw of the poster is the fact that a sizable portion of the audience will be looking for a film starring Vaughn and James called "The Truth Hurts". It must actually take considerable effort to do a poster this badly.

  6. Yes, excellent point! Maybe they were trying for awfulness? 'Any publicity is good publicity'.

  7. I actually didn't notice if things are not going right in the poster until you point it out. For a movie with this budget to have a poster this bad can only mean two things, it's deliberate, or someone in the marketing department hates their employer, LOL.

  8. Good theory! Perhaps someone has started deliberately sabotaging Vince Vaughn comedies in protest at their crapness.

  9. That is also a solid theory, and it got me thinking what other trail of subliminal message they might have left in this ugly poster. Critics are complaining that Vaughn didn't share the screen equally with Kevin James, and his character talks too much. Should I be seeing something like, "Please Make Vince Vaughn Shut Up!"?
